Winged Badge to Henry O'Niel De Hane Seagrave
Winged Badge to Sir Henry O'Niel De Hane Seagrave (Sept 1896 - June 1930) who was an early pioneer of both land and water speed records, setting three land speed and one water speed record. He was also the first person to hold both land and water speed titles simultaneously as well as being the first person to travel at over 200 mph in a land vehicle. He died in an accident in 1930 shortly after setting a new world water record on Lake Windermere. The Seagrave Trophy was establised to commemorate his life. Winged badge is approx 90mm long by 30mm in height, very well made, not sure when though it has a feel of a 40s-50s badge, 'O'Neil' spelt differently on badge to that of google, very good quality, a truly fine badge commemorating one of the early speed pioneers.
