A rare and sought after signed wartime Strube cartoon print, absolutely lovely and in excellent condition. Cartoon is entitled 'For Further Alterations See Alexander's Time-Table' ~ the cartoon shows a railway station with its 'time-table' being amended by British and American soldiers whilst German soldiers look on in frustration from another platform ~ influnced by the Italian campaign. As always with Strube cartoons there is so much to see in the artwork. A little about Strube ~ Sidney 'George' Strube 1891-1956, a notable member of the London Sketch Club in the thirties, Strube was the Daily Express’s editorial cartoonist from 1912 to 1948. For many of those years, the paper had the largest circulation in the world, and Strube became the most popular cartoonist of the inter-war period. He especially ridiculed the Nazi regime and its personalities which found the Daily Express being a banned publication in thirties Germany, and himself on the Nazi hit-list during WW2. A really nice item to compliment any collection, simply scarce as well as an investment opportunity.

A scarce surviving British propoganda postcard - An Unexpected Visitor. Part of a series of cards approved by the British Authorities during and following the end of the Desert campaign, printed in Cairo and posted to a child from Egypt. Front of card has a 'Tommy' surprising two German soldiers in the desert, one in Afrikakorps uniform and the other in steel helmet. The card is in excellent condition and the colours are still crisp. The rear is postally used, franked - part of the card has come away in the area of the frank, see pictures, however the piece is still with the card. Nice propoganda card and scarce.

A lovely surving and quite rare WW2 British propoganda leaflet 'LUFTPOST' (airpost) dropped by the RAF on to the German troops, dated 7th October 1941. Leaflet is approx 8 x 5 in, is A4 folded to give 4 readable sides, full of 'news' that the German troops 'needed' to know plus a cartoon with 2 political officers etc. These documents are rarely found these days as most simply never survived the war. Rare collectable item for both the RAF or German collector. This is a rare find for the descerning collector.

A fine silk commemorative postcard with a small embroided envelope which contains a colour printed card remembering the 'glourious Memory of 1914 - 1915', showing the flags of the Allied armies. Still complete with its wax paper postal cover with the circular hole to allow postage stamps to be franked. Very typical of the patriotic feel of the day.
