Rare O/Rs cap badge for the Essex and Suffolk Cyclist Battalion (KK1868; Gaylor plate 39B) - A fine rare O/Rs cap badge to the Essex & Suffolk Cyclist Battalion, this battalion existed for only 3 years from 1908 - 1911, made in bi-metal with the scroll being in sterling silver, slider intact. The badge is nicely detailed and shows little or no wear though there is a minor flaw in the right side of the scroll in the area of the second 'T' of 'Battn' - looks like the scroll has had a split, could be a manufacturing fault or a repair, however this does not detract whatsoever and is only noticable under a glass. A fine specimen badge that is quite rare.
