Fed up with a basic spreadsheet to catalogue your medal collection, want something more professional, something that fits your needs exactly? Well that's exactly where I was, I couldn't find anything that was suitable, flexible or affordable. I wanted something that could give me an editable and searchable database that allowed the addition of notes including images, an inventory and insurance valuation report and all within a pleasing easy to use screen environment. Whilst searching for suitable software I found Joe Bugaja, a developer of collection cataloguing software based in Australia. I explained my database needs to Joe and over the months he gave me exactly what I needed and I’m pleased to say its spot on. I now have a powerful medal collection database that is tailored to my wants and cost me less than a £100! Please note the sample screens show currency as dollars, my database is in £s GBP, so images are for information only as are some of the names shown. My database gives me: • An inventory of the collection • Searchable fields e.g. service number, surname, regiment and so on • Images of the medal or group in question, an important security feature in itself • Financial data e.g. price paid, price sold, current value, insurance value etc. • Report generation i.e. insurers inventory report • A pleasing screen environment that is easily navigated • Reference links if needed If the images below are something that you would like to explore then please email Joe directly at sales@databasebase.com.au and let him help you put your collection management where you want it to be!
