An extremely rare WW2 Allied printed "Passierschien" Safe Conduct Pass leaflet, printed in both English and German, these were dropped over Germany by the Allies to encourage the German forces to surrender. The German Serviceman bearer of the Safe Conduct Pass would allowed to surrender without fear of harm. This leaflet, printed code ‘ZG61’ was dropped from September 1944 to March 1945. The leaflet bears the printed name and signature of General Dwight D. Eisenhower, Supreme Commander, Allied Expeditionary Force. These are increasingly difficult to find these days.

Black Wound Badge and Eastern Front Medal award documents to the same man from an artillery regiment. Award document for the Eastern Front Medal dated August 1942 and for the Wound Badge in Black. What is really interesting is the wound badge was awarded in January 1945 but the certificate is a scarce POW granted issue and dated September 1945. POWs under the British control were still organised into their military units until the de-nazification process was completed. Often these units were authorised under British control to continue in their function albeit a non-operational role in the begining of the post-war clearence and re-establishment of order. Many units under allied control remained fully functional until the formal disbandment of the Wehrmacht on the forming of the Bundeswher in early 1950s. The Wound Badge certificate is issued with the swastika voided as was the then practice. A scarce POW issue award document.

A fine WW1 propoganda painting of 'The Last Man', originally painted by Hans Bohrdt In 1915, Bohrdt created this most famous illustration which shows a German naval officer holding up a German Imperial Navy flag as his ship sinks, because he would rather go down with the ship than surrender. "The Last Man" would become one of the most widely recognized and iconic of WW1 propaganda images used to inspire courage. This particular example was hand painted on to black felt, circ WW1 into the 1930s, nicely framed, quite large - size to follow but about around the 30 x 26 inches area (to be confirmed). Nicely framed, approx size 64x75 cms. Shows a large flying eagle centrally positioned, holding the Imperial German battle flag under the Imperial crown.
