WW2 German SA Dagger by J.P. Sauer & Sohn with rare Gau Code Variation
An early SA dagger in excellent condition. Maker marked J.P. Sauer & Sohn, Suhl. A nice blade with minimal marks. The blade is a tight fit to the scabbard. The reverse of the lower cross guard has the area number code 'SA' for the Sachsen SA, the code is shown in the very rare capital 'A' variation, the grip is in excellent condition and tight to the crossguards with no signs of shrinkage, the grip eagle is in nice condition, likewise the SA insignia which is a little discoloured. The scabbard retains about 90% plus of its finish, has the early solid nickel hilt and scabbard fittings, all of which are in good condition, a couple of small marks and slight dings in the lower fitting, the ball has a flat from being dropped at some point in its life. A nice early SA dagger with the bonus of a rare Gau code variation.
