WW2 German Luftwaffe Officers Sword
WW2 German Luftwaffe Officers sword, scarce early silver fittings type. Blade is clean and bright, is maker marked 'F A Helbig, Steinbach (Kr.M)' with 'Gafcen' and armourers eagle mark. Silver fittings uncleaned as aquired, a sleeper since it was brought home. Gilt finish to the pommel swastika is unfaced on both sides, likewise on the crossguard. Leather to the grip is scuffed, but 100%. Scabbard leather is very good both sides with only some scratches and scuffs - see photos - these do not detract at all. A very collectable and now scarce early sword. Blade length on this example is approx 28 1/2 inches (72cm)
