WW2 German NSKK Dagger by WKC, Solingen, rarity level 7
An early NSKK dagger in good condition. Maker marked WKC (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie), Solingen with maker's knights head logo, WKC only made 5000 daggers so quite scarce, rarity level 7 'Siegert' rating list. The reverse of the lower cross guard has the area letter 'Nm' for the Nordmark Group, little or no wood shrinkage, hint of a split at the top cross guard, minor chip to the rear top. Blade has seen some moisture at some time within the scabbard leaving some water marking to the blade surfaces, these may well carefully polish back, actually not too bad a condition verses the rarity of the dagger. The scabbard retains all of its finish though has some paint chips and a couple of minor bubbling points from moisture, has the early solid nickel hilt and scabbard fittings, ball has the usual flat spot otherwise all are in excellent condition. A nice early NSKK dagger which if in better condition would have a higher price reflecting its rarity level.
