M42 Helmet 'raw edge'
An interesting M42 'raw edge' German steel helmet in excellent condition. The helmet has a rare rivited transitional lining band with the M17 triple pad for the head lining. The 'liner' leather is basically supple in part however there are scuffs, dryness and burn marks on the pads, one has collapsed from the band, one pad has a circular stamp with 'Zoll 1130'. The helmet shell is in excellent shape, marked EF66 and batched 1803. The steel integrity has not been compromised at all, there are none of the usual bumps or dents. The helmet shell retains its dark grey paint across its surface though the earlier darker paint is showing through on the top, minor marks visible - see photographs - the letters 'O.S.' are painted into the rear rim edge. An interesting M42 helmet for the descerning collector wanting a scarce transitional band example. Priced to reflect the pad damage.
