WW2 French POW Envelope to the Commandant of Stalag VIc Germany
WW2 French POW Envelope to the Commandant of Stalag VIc Germany through the French Red Cross, no letter within, envelope only, nicely stamped including the POW camp sensor mark, date appears to be 1942. Stalag VIc was located in North West Germany near the village of Oberlangen, in 1944 the camp became the only POW camp within the 3rd Reich area to house female POWs in particular Polish female soldiers - at liberation by the Polish 1st Armoured Division there was some 1728 women POWs detained - under the command of Lt. Irena Mileska. A nice little piece of history.
