Imperial German Cavalry Soldier's embroided frame ~ 1901 - 1904 China & Japan
A fine pre WW1 embroided souvenir of an Imperial German cavalry man's far eastern tour in China and Japan 1901 to 1904. Very typical of the period when soldiers of all nations visited the far east, these high quality embroided souvinirs were avalable to the visiting servicemen who could choose general compositions and/or 'create' their own designs. Nicely framed, approx size 64x75 cms. Shows a large flying eagle centrally positioned, holding the Imperial German battle flag under the Imperial crown. The soldier is named along with the dates of his tour, 1901-04, with the soldier's picture within the small window, a little faded but does not detract at all. These patriotic pieces are extremely sought after. Competitively priced and a sound investment. Frame has been restored or cleaned by a specialst framing company. A truely excellent item for the Imperial collector.
